The Main Event aside, event 18 featured the largest prize pool thanks to 888poker Ontario slapping a $40,000 guarantee on the $109 buy-in tournament. That guarantee was surpassed by $300 thanks to 403 players turning out in force.
Eleventh-place finisher “Rykin671” ended up being the second biggest winner, in terms of prize money, thanks to pulling the $4,000 top bounty before they busted. Rykin671 scooped $4,509.35 in total; only the champion walked away with more money.
Only one player at the nine-handed final table won less than $1,000 for their efforts, and even they only missed out by $26, such was the size of the prize pool.
“DyckensCider” ($1,057), “tcavallin” ($974), and “Toddiep41” ($1,031) busted to leave the final table six-handed. The final six became five after the elimination of “BanhkemN” ($1,427), who had previously taken down Event #8 for $731.
“IronMyJacket” ($1,441), “InWAAAVES” ($2,212), and “iamEklo” ($2,590) crashed out, which left only “mgray3727” and “Josh_Degen” in the hunt for the title.
