No-limit hold’em high Rollers, low rollers, and mid-stakes tournament players will all find at least one bracelet event of interest on the first ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise series in the Bahamas.
The event kicks off Dec. 3 at the Atlantis Paradise Island, formerly home to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), and runs through Dec. 14. Of the 15 bracelet events on the schedule, which was released Friday, 12 are of the no-limit hold’em variety, while the remaining three are pot-limit Omaha tournaments.

WSOP Paradise Schedule Highlights
Right off the bat, the series will feature a $1,500 buy-in Mystery Millions tournament with a guaranteed $5,000,000 prize pool. One day later — Dec. 4 — a second $5,000,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event starts ($1,500 Millionaire Maker).
In total, there’s going to be a minimum of $50 million in prize money awarded across the 15 gold bracelet events. GGPoker, the poker site sponsoring the series, has two of its own trademark events planned — $25,000 GGMillion$ High Rollers Championship ($10 million guaranteed on Dec. 5) and $800 Flip & Go (Dec. 12).
As is the case with any major series, the Main Event is the crown jewel, and there’s no exception at WSOP Paradise. The $5,000 buy-in Main Event begins Dec. 9 and will have a pot of at least $15,000,000, the largest guarantee of the series.
The three pot-limit Omaha tournaments run Dec. 7 ($25,000) and Dec. 8 ($2,000 — online), and Dec. 13 ($10,000). There are two online bracelet events on GGPoker during the series, including the aforementioned PLO tournament and the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout (Dec. 13).

Competing with Other Major Poker Events
December is going to be an interesting and exciting month for poker. That is because there will be three major tournament series around the world that will bring about some tough competition for each operator.
Those events are the WSOP Paradise (Dec. 3-14), European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague (Dec. 6-17), and World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas (Nov. 29-Dec. 23).
Last year’s inaugural WPT World Championship was a rousing success and its signature $10k event had a $29 million prize pool. Many of the game’s top high rollers consider Prague one of the EPT’s top destinations, So, the WSOP Paradise, although there will be some coveted gold bracelets up for grabs, will have some competition. Tournament players are going to have some interesting decisions to make on where to go and play in December.
