It appears that nobody is safe from the one-man wrecking ball that is Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser when it comes to the PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP). Glaser is best known for his mixed game prowess, having secured nine SCOOP titles and eight World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) titles, with all but one coming in non-Hold’em events.
On May 25, Glaser clinched his third victory of the 2023 SCOOP, which puts him on a record-equalling ten titles with Calvin “cal42688” Anderson. Glaser’s latest first-place finish came in the $109 No-Limit Hold’em 7-Max Turbo PKO event, his first NLHE victory across both SCOOP and WCOOP. Nobody has more ‘COOP victories than Gaser.
Is there no game that Glaser cannot turn his hand to? It appears not.

Some 2,681 players turned out in force for SCOOP 100-M: $109 NLHE 7-Max Turbo PKO, creating a $268,100 prize pool as a result. $33,668 of that sum is now in Glaser’s possession. No doubt the uber-talented Brit will be investing a significant chunk of those winnings into the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) grind in the coming weeks.
Three of the seven finalists turned their $109 investments into five-figure scores.
Brazilian “FelipeAA23” busted in third place, and walked away with $10,878 for their efforts. Their untimely demise left Glaser heads-up against Romania’s “Virgillk,” and one elimination away from a tenth SCOOP title.
The rest, as they say, is history, and Glaser left yet another opponent in his wake. “Virgillk” collected $18,860 for their runner-up finish, leaving Glaser to scoop yet another SCOOP win plus $33,668 in prize money.
I did another thing! # My third title of this #SCOOP series, and my 18th overall, for $33.4k!
Sturm Takes Down the $3,150 High Roller; Veldhuis’ Wait Continues
Team PokerStars’ Lex “L. Veldhuis” Veldhuis‘ wait for his maiden SCOOP victory continues, with the popular Dutchman reaching yet another final table but ultimately falling short.
Veldhuis was one of 136 entrants in the SCOOP 91-H: $3,150 NLHE PKO High Roller, and reached the final table with enough chips to occupy sixth place. Unfortunately for Veldhuis and his legion of fans, sixth place is where he finished.
Ukraine’s “ContraSpemSper0,” “milanov888,” and “Old brock” were the first players eliminated from the final table.
Then came Veldhuis’ exit hand. Leon” RUMUKULUS” Sturm min-raised from the button, and Veldhuis defended his big blind with queen-three of spades. Veldhuis check-called a 1.4 big blind bet on the six-queen-ace flop, which showed two hearts.
Veldhuis checked again on the offsuit deuce turn, then called a chunkier 6.2 big blind bet, leading to the eight of clubs river. The Dutchman checked for a third time, and Sturm bet enough to set Veldhuis all-in for his last 20.3 big blinds. Veldhuis went into the tank before emerging with a call, only to discover Sturm had the goods with his ace-deuce turning two pair.
Sturm eventually found himself heads-up against “Haringbuis” after Sweden’s “flerrehuve,” Ramiro “ramastar88” Petrone, and Markku “markovitsus” Koplimaa bowed out. Both of the heads-up players locked in $38,080, leaving the massive final bounties to play for.
“Haringbuis” fell at the final hurdle and had to make do with a runner-up prize worth $49,102, leaving Sturm to collect $94,664 thanks in part to a bounty haul in excess of $56,000.
