Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to Train Future Table Games Dealers for Free


Top gaming destination in New York opened 24 hours a day Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has announced it would run a free Dealer Academy at the beginning of next year. The decision was taken as a means of the casino attempting to train its future table games dealers. The six-week training course will be initiated on January 2, 2023. Everyone looking to start a new career as a table games dealer can join the free classes at the Rivers Casino training center at 220 Harborside Drive, in Schenectady, New York.

The Free Classes Will Be Held Monday-Friday

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady invites anyone with a passion for gambling to kick off the New Year with a fresh career to join their classes in January. The operator that is looking to fix its staff shortage problem has described the casino dealer career as a “fun, hands-on and fast-paced” profession. At the moment, Rivers Casino has more than 20 job openings for the position of table games dealer. Those who will be selected to work for the group can expect hourly wages and tips that will go over $25 per hour. In addition, the new table games dealers will also benefit from a series of extra perks, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, access to Rivers Casino Scholarship Program and Tuition Reimbursement, a discounted meal program, a gym reimbursement program, leadership training, and career advancement programs, and more.

“Fun, Energetic, and Reliable” People Are Invited

The group which is owned and operated by Rush Street Gaming and its affiliates described the new free Dealer Academy as one that welcomes “fun, energetic, and reliable participants” of all levels of preparation and experience, ranging from beginners with zero casino dealership knowledge to seasoned players. The group promises to provide “incredible”, and “endless” opportunities for a “rewarding career, growth, and development.”

All students will be taught a rich selection of games starting with the classic Blackjack game and continuing with fresher games. Participants will also need to pass a final audition and get their New York State Gaming Commission gaming license. Those who will successfully finish the course and check all boxes will then be offered either part-time or full-time positions as table games dealers at the casino based at the Mohawk Harbor next to the center of downtown Schenectady.

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady now counts 66 live table games, 16 poker tables in a dedicated poker room, 1,050 slot machines, a live sportsbook lounge, a multipurpose event center, an entertainment lounge and five restaurants.
