FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
E.P.O.N.A. AND WENDELL'S WISH MERGE; NEED VOLUNTEERS
EPPING, NH - It is with great pleasure and excitement that Wendells Wish, a therapeutic riding program, announces its merger with E.P.O.N.A. (Equine Protection of North America).
In the process of it restructuring and relocating, Wendells Wish has chosen to bring E.P.O.N.A. and Wendells Wish together. In addition to E.P.O.N.A.s equine rescue efforts of helping horses in need E.P.O.N.A. has been in the process of researching and planning its own therapeutic riding program. Given the timing involved, it is only fitting that Wendells Wish join forces with E.P.O.N.A. Both organizations are registered 501(c)3 Charitable organizations. Wendells Wish has chosen to dissolve its non-profit status and it will operate under the E.P.O.N.A. 501(c)3 statute as a Charitable Organization.
Until such time that E.P.O.N.A. builds its permanent facility, the Wendells Wish Program will operate out of a leased facility in Epping known as Inspiration Farm. The facility offers year 'round capabilities for the program.
Wendells Wish was the final request of Exeter resident Wendell Clare. Upon his passing, Wendells horse Max became the founding horse for the Wendells Wish Therapeutic Riding Program. Therapeutic riding incorporates equine oriented activities that contribute positively to the behavioral, cognitive, emotional, physical and social growth of people with disabilities. This method of learning provides an occasion for the participant to learn about her/himself through the interaction and relationship with the horse. The benefits of therapeutic riding have long been recognized by the medical and psychiatric communities for improving self esteem, flexibility, balance, motor skills, memory sequencing and attention span. Horses provide unlimited opportunities for the development of unique relationships that nurture and empower their human counterparts.
E.P.O.N.A. (Equine Protection of North America) and E.P.O.N.A.'s Wendell's Wish Therapeutic Riding Program are in need of volunteers for helping with the care and handling of horses as well as those interested in learning about being leaders, and side walkers for the therapeutic riding program. There can be no greater reward than to help care and provide for a horse that is need and to assist a child or adult with a disability learn the fundamentals, benefits and joy of developing a relationship with a horse. No experience is necessary, training is available all we ask is that one be committed, compassionate and responsible and able to commit to a one or two day a week schedule for a six week period of time.
For more information on E.P.O.N.A.s Wendells Wish therapeutic riding program, volunteering or financially assisting with this worthwhile cause, contact E.P.O.N.A. at 603-679-1896 or e-mail [email protected] or visit our website at www.eponarescue.org!
We look forward to hearing from you! July 6, 2005

WINTER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR E.P.O.N.A.
Equine Protection of North America (E.P.O.N.A.), one of the top ten horse rescues in the United States, is making its quarterly plea for volunteers. Help is needed with ongoing barn work, administrative duties and the new therapeutic riding program. Volunteers may offer as little or as much time as they are willing and able to and as their schedules permit.
Experience is not necessary to volunteer for E.P.O.N.A. What is necessary is a willingness to listen, to learn and to work for the benefit of the horses in E.P.O.N.A.'s care.
For more information, call 603-679-1896. Visit E.P.O.N.A.'s newly updated website at www.eponarescue.org to learn about all opportunities.
Equine Protection of North America is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
October 19, 2004
Equine Protection of North American (E.P.O.N.A.), a horse rescue facility in Epping, NH, is in urgent need of volunteers to groom horses, muck stalls, repair fences, man booths at pet fairs, edit a quarterly newsletter, generate and implement fund-raising projects and many, many other tasks both administrative and hands-on with the over thirty horses housed at our Epping barns.
E.P.O.N.A. takes in horses that have been abused or neglected, rehabilitates them, and seeks to adopt them into qualified homes. The horses are handled daily and provided the high quality of individual care they would receive with a caring and knowledgeable owner.
In September, E.P.O.N.A. purchased twenty-one Premarin foals. The four to six-month old weanlings are housed in two paddocks at E.P.O.N.A. Many of them have been adopted, but they will not go to their new homes until they can be safely handled, including leading and loading into a horse trailer.
Volunteering at E.P.O.N.A. this fall is a great opportunity to learn about horses and their care. Experience with horses in not a requirement, just enthusiasm, compassion, reliability, and a willingness to learn. To volunteer, please call 603.679.1896 and leave a message for Stephanie, E.P.O.N.A.'s Volunteer/Staff Coordinator. To see some of our horses, visit www.eponarescue.org.
