The PokerStars Bounty Builder Series may be a few events into its bustling schedule, but the PKO festival has already created some massive scores, including one worth more than $129,000. The first of four $1 million+ guaranteed tournaments crowns its champion on March 6, but before that happens, let us take a look at some of the biggest PokerStars results of the weekend.

The $5,200 Titans Event became a progressive knockout tournament on March 5, as PokerStars made it part of the Bounty Builder Series. Eighty-nine players bought in and created a $445,000 prize pool, with half going on each entrants head and the other half shared among the top 11 finishers.

Mario “MB TREMENDO” Bonanata was the unfortunate bubble boy, although they did collect $5,000 worth of bounties, so it was not too much of a bad day at the office. Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson busted in 11th, and Felipe “ketzerfelipe” Ketzer in tenth, which set the final table.

Pascal Lefrancois

The exit of Pascal “Pass_72” Lefrancois ($38,538) left the waters slightly less shark-infested, with the untimely demise of the United Kingdom’s “foxjoke” in third ($34,200) setting up a heads-up battle between “SerVlaMin” and Georgi “millennial” Sandev.

It was Sandev that emerged from the fight relatively unscathed and with a first-place prize worth $129,143 with bounty payments included. The runner-up walked away with $76,048, which is still a healthy return for a few hours of grinding.

Brooks Bags Bounty Builder Series Title

British grinder Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks became a Bounty Builder Series champion when he came out on top of a 692-strong field in the $530 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Event. Having a prize pool of $346,000 attracted some of online poker’s biggest stars, with several of them navigating their way to the final table where the big buck lay in wait.

“Rebel FishAK” ($4,815), Rui “Silden4filho” Bouquet ($5,904), and Sweden’s “flerrehuve” ($6,459) bowed out in succession, leaving only six players in the hunt for the title, all six locking in five-figure prizes.

Pascal “Päffchen” Hartmann ($10,632) saw his tournament end in a sixth-place finish, while “Eller77” ($13,581) and Thailand-based “belthazorrrr” ($12,628) dusted off their stacks. Montenegro’s “Shemowna” crashed in third ($18,501), which left Brooks one-on-one against Ukraine’s “234241234214432” for the glory and the lion’s share of the prize pool.

Brooks got the job done and his hands on the $52,703 top prize, resigning his Ukrainian opponent to a $35,357 consolation prize.
