Misha is a rescue from the New Holland auction is Pennsylvania. She is an eighteen-year-old Appaloosa pony. Misha came from the auction extremely sick. She was lethargic, underweight, had an elevated fever, and a great deal of nasal discharge. She was not strong enough to make the trip to New Hampshire directly from the auction, so through the generosity of Lisa Copp, another horse rescue in PA, Misha spent a few additional weeks regaining her health and strength. Misha had pneumonia, but has recovered and is doing great. She has put on a great deal of weight. Now that Misha is feeling better, we no longer have the frail, lethargic pony. Misha is quite a gal for a pony her age. She is very vocal at feeding time. She has strong attachment issues to other horses at the barn. She can be ridden, but needs a strong rider. The first time that we rode Misha, she reared constantly. The focus of her rearing was not related to fear, or an attempt to unseat the rider. It was blind determination to return to the barn and her stall. The more that Misha has been ridden, the less determined she has become in her attempts to return to the barn. She appears to be more comfortable in a ring setting rather than out on the trail. We have had her on the trail, and she is good - she has gone through water and over culverts with running water. Misha is available for adoption. She will require an experienced rider. For future adoption, fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions to Misha's care can be made through E.P.O.N.A.
Mathias is a stunning, black, elegant pony who is truly a diamond in the rough. Mathias was a joint rescue with New Hampshire Equine Humane Association. Mathias suffered from an abscessed tooth that had gone unnoticed until he had lost a severe amount of weight. His medical needs at that point with the weight loss and the extent of the infection became too costly for the owners. Mathias came into the care of E.P.O.N.A. and began treatment immediately. A nutritional program was put into place and Mathias was on the road to recovery. With the combination of medical attention, good nutrition and the fact that Mathias was still a colt, he quickly became a fresh little guy. Mathias was gelded several months ago and is adjusting to a new attitude on life. He is gorgeous, he is extremely bright, he is very talented and he has a very high regard for himself. Mathias is two and one-half years old and will be available for adoption in the coming months ahead. For future adoption, fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions for Mathias's care can be made through E.P.O.N.A.
Trooper is a ninteen year-old dark chestnut Saddlebred gelding. He has been sound and until recently has had no health issues. Recently he did undergo surgery for what was suspected to be colic, however a neurological disorder is now suspect. He is currently recovering from surgery and is enrolled in a rehabilitation program that includes acupuncture and chiropractic treatement. Trooper was schooled in dressage and is available for adoption with discretionary use. To start the adoption process, please fill out the Adoption Prospectus.
Annie is a lovely fourteen-year-old Standard bred mare. If ever there was a sweet horse, she is it. Her manners are impeccable, she is gentle, sweet, just a real love. Annie was purchased at the New Holland auction by E.P.O.N.A. for the Exceller Fund. She was purchased directly from the "killer pen;" she had the "kill only" tag on her rump. Annie has a degenerative condition on her right stifle and although her prognosis as a performance horse is not good, she can achieve a comfort level as a pasture companion. Annie is available for adoption as a companion animal only. To start the adoption process, fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions can be made through the Exceller Fund.
Patriot is another rescue from the New Holland auction. He was rescued by E.P.O.N.A. for the Exceller Fund. Patriot is a black Thoroughbred gelding directly off the track. His tattoo is not legible and therefore his history is very much a mystery. He is estimated to be approximately six years old. Patriot had a fracture in his left front ankle. It was a clean break and a fairly new injury - no doubt the reason he was at the auction. Patriot has undergone surgery and a pin has been placed in his ankle. His is recovering very well and he is expected to be sound and available as a saddle horse with discretionary use. For adoption, fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contribution to his care can be made through the Exceller Fund.

Pro on the Road (Gem) is another New Holland rescue. She, too, was purchased directly out of the "killer pen" for the Exceller Fund. Gem, as she is affectionately known, is a bay, five-year-old Thoroughbred mare. She is a granddaughter of the great Mr. Prospector. Upon her arrival it was suspected that she suffered from soft tissue in her right front ankle. As that condition improved, she became more active in her stall, causing her opposite knee to become enlarged. Further examination revealed that the more unsuspecting condition was in her knee and not in her ankle. Gem has undergone surgery to remove a very large number of bone fragments. Her prognosis is good; she will be pasture sound and possibly some light riding. For adoption, please fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions to her care can be made through the Exceller Fund.

Ralph is a nineteen -year-old bay Thoroughbred gelding. Ralph has an enlarged knee, which is the end result of a racing injury. The injury is at least thirteen years old and until recently it had put no restrictions on Ralph's ability to get around. With the winter months setting in and Ralph's limited ability to get around in the snow he is becoming increasingly stiff on the swollen knee. It is expected that with warmer weather and more favorable conditions that Ralph will regain most of his flexibility in the knee. He is very attached and very protective of our Queen Mabel. Any future adoption will require another horse to be on the property. For adoption, please fill out the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions to his care can be made through E.P.O.N.A.

Tilly is a lovely bay Thoroughbred mare. Tilly is five years old and was a rescue from Suffolks Downs in Revere, MA. Tilly suffers from a shoulder injury related to an accident on the track where she ran into the guardrail. The injury was not tended to, therefore leaving her crippled for life. Tilly maintains a very good quality of life as a pasture pal. She is not experiencing any pain, nor is she on any medications other than joint supplements. She is able to walk, trot, and yes, even gallop with her paddock mates. She does have the typical race track habit of wind sucking, however this is restricted in the paddock by electric wire over the rail fence, and she does wear a collar in the evenings when she is in the barn. She is a sweet mare and is deserving of a loving home where she can receive a lot of one-on-one. Tilly has been adopted.
Congratulations to both Tilly and High Road Farm of OakPark, Virginia on the adoption of Tilly
Kodiak Moment is a two year old Premarin paint gelding. He is 15.2 with a great build. He is a very fluid mover and has a great deal of potential as a performance horse. He ground drives and has worn a saddle. We will soon have some one on his back. "Kodie" was rescued from the Premarin auctions in Manitoba, Canada. To start the adoption process, please fill out and return the Adoption Prospectus. Contributions can be made through E.P.O.N.A.
