Premarin Foals
Depending on whose numbers that you choose to believe, thousands of foals go to slaughter every year. The foals are rounded up, separated from their mothers and sent to auction, often times all in the same day.
Premarin Foals Here at E.P.O.N.A.
At E.P.O.N.A. we allow our foals to rest a week before we begin to invite our prospective adopters to visit. In that time period the foals are fed, observed and evaluated so that we can better guide our potential adoptive parents in selecting the right foal for them. Upon a foal being selected we then pair the foals with a buddy and we begin the befriending process with the two of them. Our Premarin foals do not leave our facility until they are haltered, leading, can pick up their feet, will stand to be groomed. They must go through our worming program and be current on coggins and all shots. When are foals are haltered and can be led they spend the afternoons in the grassed paddocks at E.P.O.N.A..
With the dramatic cut backs in the Premarin industry the number of Premarin mares and foals that will be available this year will be at an all time high. If anyone has ever considered adopting a Premarin mare or foal and have been "on the fence" this is the year to make that decision.
With the reduction of Premarin contracts and the number of mares and foals at the auctions this year it will be harder than ever to prevent a large number of mares and foals from going to feedlots or slaughter houses. We are currently accepting applications for this years mares and Foals.
