Playtech and Hard Rock Digital Partnership Reaches First Milestone

Playtech, the global supplier of games and technology for online casinos, has announced the completion of the first phase of its strategic partnership with Hard Rock Digital, the interactive gaming and sports betting division of Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.

The partnership was initially announced in March 2023, when Playtech revealed that it had agreed to pay 85 million dollars for a single-digit percentage stake in Hard Rock Digital. The purchase was part of a larger deal between the two sides, a deal which included the right for Hard Rock Digital to license a range of Playtech’s technology solutions and iGaming content.

Since that announcement, Playtech managed to deliver a whole range of games through the Hard Rock Bet platform in New Jersey, which is a proprietary brand of Hard Rock Digital. Among the content delivered we can find RNG slot games, table games and live dealer games as well. Moreover, Playtech developed several table games specifically for Hard Rock Bet, games which feature the operator’s brand.

Hard Rock Digital also licensed the technology solutions and iGaming content provided by Playtech, allowing customers to enjoy a wide range of entertaining and exciting casino games. This was true for the operator’s clients in New Jersey but also any future Hard Rock Bet iCasino markets in North America will have access to Playtech’s content.

Dedicated Blackjack Table Released

The announcement also revealed that the collaboration between the two sides led to the release of a dedicated blackjack table and that more such products will follow, “offering Hard Rock players a customized experience.” The two parties also underlined that this represents “just the beginning of a series of bespoke developments” that will be made because of this partnership.

Hard Rock Digital currently offers online and retail sports betting in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia, while its retail sports betting with an integrated online sportsbook and casino experience is available only in New Jersey. The operator plans to launch its brand in more American states in the future and to expand to other international markets in the coming years.

Jonathan Doubilet, VicePresident for U.S. Business Operations at Playtech, declared himself “delighted” to have reached the first milestone of the collaboration and said he was “excited about accelerating the growing partnership with Hard Rock Digital.”

Grant Williams, Senior Vice President at Hard Rock Digital, underlined that the first dedicated table built together with Playtech is a way to provide “legendary entertainment” to the operator’s players. “We’re thrilled to introduce Playtech’s offerings to our New Jersey Hard Rock Bet players and look forward to continuing to develop unique digital experiences together as we expand in the U.S. and international markets,” the Hard Rock Digital representative concluded.

A life taken

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy following the death of her boyfriend who had recently won $3,000 at gambling.

Katherine Emel was arrested on Wednesday and taken into custody without bail. William Carter, a father of two and the suspect’s boyfriend, was discovered dead in January in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

It is alleged that Emel tipped off one of the men involved in the murder about Carter’s gambling winnings.

Emel received $700 from Allen after the murder

The suspects are Damon Brantley Jr., 18, Daquan Allen, 29, and Jerry Butler, 28. A fourth suspect, a juvenile, was not named. Brantley is accused of being the one who pulled the trigger. Police determined that Emel received $700 from Allen after the murder.

All four suspects are expected to attend a preliminary court hearing on February 16.

What happened?

According to surveillance footage, when Carter went to retrieve some money from his car, he was ambushed by three of the suspects. A fourth person remained inside the vehicle.

The three men robbed Carter of his money before one suspect, believed to be Brantley, shot him in the head.

she was in contact with Allen “multiple times”

On the night of Carter’s death, Emel is accused of having provided his location to the suspects. She was also in contact with Allen “multiple times” before the murder and told Allen that Carter had won $3,000 gambling.

To make it easier to track Carter, Emel placed a tracking device in the trunk of her vehicle, which Carter was driving.

According to his family, Carter was visiting his one-year-old daughter at the time of his death.

Max Win Gaming Releases New Slot Midnight Thirst Deadspins

Max Win Gaming spills some blood in its newest thrilling slot release, Midnight Thirst Deadspins. The love-hate relationship between the main characters takes the thrill to another level, and fantastic prizes are there to make the experience complete.

Searching for blood:

This thrilling game is powered by Red Tiger, and it allows players to meet mysterious vampires who are looking for new blood to satisfy their thirst and survive another day or night. However, not everything in this game is about winning. Losses are pretty good too, since each spin without an achieved win increases the multipliers and enhances the chances of entering the Free Spins round.

The 5×4 reel slot isn’t dark at all, though. The characters are cartoonish, with a fantastic soundtrack and a few humorous elements that make the gameplay even better. The base game is set in a castle crypt, and once the Free Spins round is activated, the characters get out to conquer the world.

This slot offers 1.023 different ways to win and has an RTP of 96.36%. The hit rate is 38.49%, and the slot is described as highly volatile.

Once the win is achieved, the chain reaction feature removes all winning symbols and allows the new ones to drop. Cards from 10 to A are lower paying symbols, and they can bring the player 0.3 or 0.4x the bet for a win that contains five symbols, or 1x-5x the bet if the winning symbols are bats with orbs or skulls, a lady, or a vampire.

Reward without a winning spin:

If the win doesn’t occur, the progressive multiplier is increased both in the base game and free spins round. Each spin without a win increases the progress bar by one, and three of them are needed in order to increase the multiplier. Once the win is achieved, the progress bar resets. The multiplier can be 1x, 3x, or 6x, and if the fourth level is achieved, the free spins round is activated.

During the base game, nine spins without a win can lead to activating free spins. The round begins with a 6x multiplier and nine spins. Whenever the new multiplier level is achieved, the player earns three additional free spins.

On top of that, the players can progress directly to the free spins round through the Bonus Buy feature. This guarantees an RTP of 96.47% and progressing to the bonus costs 80x the base bet.

The slot joins popular Max Win Gaming releases such as Splendour Forest, Fruit Strike, Yummy Wilds, and many more.

Chicago Casino Hotel Redesign Gets Green Light Following Major Hitch

No hitches

Bally’s Corporation has gotten the green light from Chicago officials for its new hotel design. The Rhode Island-based company is getting ready to start development on the city’s first casino and was dealt a setback when changes had to be made to the original plans because of concerns over underlying water pipes. The hope is that construction work will start in July; the first phase will include a permanent casino and a 100-room hotel.

new plan did not need approval from the City Council

Bally’s originally planned to build an additional 400-room hotel on top as part of phase two before the water pipe issues came to light. The new plan did not need approval from the City Council – the facility will be built on the southern part of the site, rather than on the north end close to the Chicago River.

Some concerns from locals

A spokesperson for Bally’s welcomed the decision by City Zoning Administrator Patrick Murphey to approve the plan on Thursday. The spokesperson noted that the new design is fully compliant with all requirements and maintains the exact same floor area ratio as when the company first outlined its intentions. The change in design will not impact the timeline for starting construction.

The site of the new casino is the Chicago Tribune’s printing factory and the plan is to open the property in 2026.

Not everyone is happy with the changes. The River North Residents Association has consistently battled against the casino project since the beginning over traffic and public safety fears. It believes the recent revisions need a transparent and complete review that would include input from the community.

Recent results of the temporary casino

The temporary casino that Bally’s set up at Medinah Temple while the development work takes place has fallen short of expectations so far.

third in the rankings of the 16 Illinois casinos

It reported a $9.3m profit for last month, putting it third in the rankings of the 16 Illinois casinos. This means that $913,000 in tax revenue will go to fire and police pensions. Mayor Brandon Johnson was hoping the casino would generate $35m in tax revenue in 2024.

It also had over 88,000 visits, placing it only behind Rivers Casino in the rankings. Bally’s is hoping to improve results by offering more bus and shuttle routes, introducing valet parking, and opening VIP areas.
