This is Earl Grey. He is a 16h, 15 year old thoroughbred gelding. He's a sweetheart- great ground manners, clips, ties, good for farrier/vet. He does have some minor special needs around a club foot and ring bone. He needs an intermediate/experienced rider and consistent work. Up until three years ago he was doing hunter/jumpers in Pennsylvania.
I am looking to free lease Mack. I would consider adopting him out if its a good match. Mack seems to be a left brain / extravert. He is a 20 yr old [April 1989] Registered American Saddlebred. I will forward his registered name to those interested. He has been trained in Saddleseat since he was a yearling, shown all over the New England area and was bred until he was gelded at age 12. It is believed that he may have an old stifle injury in the left rear leg. However, his moves are jaw dropping. He is a flaxen chestnut with a cresent moon. He is a bit insecure but listens well to your direction. It is believed since he was a show horse that he is not used to being around other horses and will act up out of fear.
He is awesome with people. He learns quickly and is a thinker. He will not canter with a rider but has been taken on trail rides. If someone tries to ride him "Saddleseat" he will buck them and lose total respect for them. Once he gets to know you, he listens and tries very hard to overcome fears and learns new things. He knows Clicker Training and has been started on ground work with Parelli. Light riding only, no shows, no jumping. I would like a firm but gentle Natural Horsemanship person to work with him. No shoes, no bits and preferably no stalling if at all possible. He is rough boarded now and enjoys the freedom to move about at will.
