The world’s largest online poker site is giving US players a golden opportunity to win the most valuable ticket in the game — the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) Platinum Pass.

Through the PokerStars Golden Ticket promotion, which is currently underway, Platinum Passes will be awarded to players in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania via the PokerStars platform, a legal poker site in those three states.

The PSPC, back for the first time since its inaugural year in 2019, is a unique $25,000 buy-in tournament in the Bahamas from January 30 to February 3. Due to COVID-19, the repeat event was pushed back, which means Ramon Colillas of Spain, who won $5.1 million, is still the defending champion.

Colillas beat out 1,039 entries, far and away the largest field ever for an event above $10,000. What makes this tournament so special is that most of those players, including the champion, didn’t pay to enter. Many of the competitors won a Platinum Pass from PokerStars, which covers the six-figure buy in and some travel expenses, and you can be the next winner.

Two Ways to Win PSPC Platinum Passes

So, here’s how it worked: players had to first join the PokerStars site in the three aforementioned US states (if you haven’t already). Next, they had to opt in to enter the Golden Ticket promotion and then play at least one hand of poker with a minimum buy-in of $1. They then received a mystery chest, which could have a Golden Ticket freeroll entry inside.

If they found one of those tickets, they were automatically entered into a freeroll tournament where the winner took home a $30,000 valued Platinum Pass, which could turn into millions of dollars in the Bahamas this coming winter. To be eligible, players had to be located within state borders during play in Michigan, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. It isn’t required to be a resident of the state, only that you can’t compete from another state.

There’s a second opportunity for US PokerStars players to win Platinum Passes, and that is through the Fall Fest, which runs November 18-28. The 120-event series have guaranteed prize pools of $2 million across the three states, with $1 million in Pennsylvania, $400,000 in New Jersey, and $500,000 in Michigan.

The tournament buy-ins during the Fall Fest start at $5 and players can satellite in for as little as $1. The top 500 leaderboard players in Pennsylvania — top 300 in Michigan and top 200 in New Jersey — will be entered into a series-ending freeroll where one winner in each state will receive a Platinum Pass.

The PSPC is part of the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, a festival from January 22 to February 3 at the Baha Mar Resort on Cable Beach in Nassau, Bahamas. On top of the PSPC, the $10,300 buy in PCA Main Event runs January 23-29, along with many other exciting poker tournaments.
